Each Room will be Elegantly and Comfortably FURNISHED, and a BILLÍARD TABLE and a PLANO will be provided in each room. There will also be MUSICAL EVENINGS and DANCING during the winter.

On behalfof the HOTEL and INNKEEPERS of Hongkong 1 projest against Mr. HAHN, who carries on Business as a Piano tuner and repairer, or any other person, being permited to infringe on our rights by establishing what is simply AN UNLICENSED PUBLIC HOUSE We pay the Goremment a sum of $300 per annum. for a spirit license, and $50 per annum for each billiard table and have, berides, to close our places at certain bours Mr. HAHN proposes to SELL SPIRITS and other LIQUORS, to Fun THREE BILLIARD TABLES and to KEEP OPEN AT ALL HOURS without paying any license whatever.

How can such A Club as this be legally established for persons who are non-resident in the Colony? Mr. HAHN refers to the Engineers Institute but that association, which is con- ducted by resident Engineers, does not Sell Spirits, does not rum Billiard Tables, nor does it Keep Open House for the supply of Refresh- ments at all hours, pr give Musical and Dancing evenisiga.
