4 o'clock p.m. Banks are considerably weaker than they were this morning, holders freely offering to sell for cash at 192 without find ing customers. Further business has been put through in China Traders' scrip at 73, and more
shares could be placed without difficulty at the rate. Steamboats are in good demand for qash at so per share premium, and at equivalent rates a few time transactions for the end of the month and also for De cember 31st have been registered, Sales of China Sugars at 143 for cash have been reported, the stock leaving off in steady demand at that rate, also at 146 for the end of the year. Other quotations remain unchanged.

The British steamship Fushun reports left- Glasgow on the 16th August, and Singapore on the 4th instant., Had light winds and fine wea- ther throughout the passage.
The British steamship Chinking reports left Shanghai at 1.30 a.m. on the 7th instant, and arrived at 7.15 a.m. on the roth, Had moderate N.E. winds with fine weather throughout...................
The British steamship Haluan reports left Haiphong at 5 p.m. on the 3rd instant, After passing the Norways had strong breeze from the N.E. with high sea At 9 am, on the 4th blowing a stiff gale from the N.E. with a high bead sea. Put the ship about and steered for Feitre Lung Bay, at which place anived it 4.30 p.m. Left Feitze Lung Bay at 7 am. on the 6th. Had strong breeze from the Eastward to Cape Cami; thence to Holbow had light breeze and fine weather. Arrived in 'Holhow at it a.m. on the 7th, and left again at noon on the 8th; thence to Hongkong had moderate breeze and fine weather.
