Noon. Stock Exchange business is gradually improving and in consequence there is a healthier tone in the market than has been the case for a long time past. Banks are again in strong favor, and recent doings would apparently indicate that they are likely to improve even upon their present position. This morning a fair business has been put through at 188 per cent. premium for cash, 189 and 190 for the end of June, and 193 for July 31st, the stock leaving off very arm. Hongkong Fires are in rather better odour; buyers offer 1265 and, we think, would spring to 1270, but no shares are likely to be forth- coming even at the higher rate. China Fires are in demand at 360 per share. Both Sugar stocks are healthier than when we last wrote. Chinas are wanted at 185. and probably a higher price will be paid.
