THIS DAY,
Noon, Business in the Share Market this morn Ing. has been the reverse of extensive. Banks have changed hands at 197 per cent. premium for the end of April, and 200 for 31st May, China Traders' con- tinue their upward course, offers to buy at $2800, an advance of $50 since yesterday, not having been met with when our report left. Yungtsze Insurances are in good de- mand at a slightly advanced rate, holders not caring to part at present. Hongkong Fires are in demand at quotation, but no shares
are to be had. Nothing in other stocks has come under notice.

4.o'clock p.m. China Traders' are still in great de- mand, having advanced another $100 per share since noon. Sales have been effected
at $2900, per share and there are still offers
to buy at that figure. No other transac- tions have been reported to us.

The omission of the latter precaution leaves a doubt as to whether the contents of the box ever reached the Fost Office: the omission of the former, as to whether. part of them might not have been abstracted for the sake of the Postage Stamps.
