WE are in receipt of information from a reliable source that the work on the Wo Hop Company's telegraph line between Canton and Kowloon has again been resumed. The objections of the obstructive villagers having apparently been overcome, the construction of the line along the route originally proposed is being proceeded with in a most satisfactory manner. The promoters of this laudable undertaking are sanguine that no further opposition will be offered, and expect to have the line in working order in the course. of a few weeks,

As Fernando Signor Petrovich worked hard to achieve success, and although occasionally out of tunc, came out of a somewhat trying ordeal with much credit. This artiste sings with good taste and general musical accuracy, but his voice is sadly lacking in those special quali- ties essential for a leading operatic tenor. The various soles were very fairly sung, and the rendering of the beautiful romance "Spinto gentil was deservedly encored. THE adjourned inquiry into the death of Capt E. Lee of the steamship Yangtrze was resumed at the Magistracy this morning before Mr. H. E. Wodehouse, (Coronel) and a jury. As all the important particulars in connection with the matter seems to us to have been already elicited, and as the demands on our Hmited space are numerous, we think it just as well to omit re- producing matters of detail which have already teen fully reported in the evidence of the other
