The British bark Osprey reports left Albany SPICA, German bark, 915, B. Hallmann, 13th

TanCardiff Ist September, Coal-Melon the 11th October. Had light airs and calms. chers & Co.

with strong adverse currents; were 45 days from first sighting the island until leaving it. On the 31st Dec. had strong breeze with very heavy sea from the Eastward, which caused the ship to roll heavily, and washed the sand ballast. This choked the pumps, also causing the ship to have a strong list to port. Were not able to pump ship up to time of arrival. Off Formosa had strong N.E. monsoon.
