THIS DAY.
Noon. Business on the Stock Exchange has been unusually quiet this morning, not a single transaction having been reported. excepting a few sales of Banks at. 168 per cent, premium for the end of the year.. For cash this stock is in good demand at 166, and to all appearance a higher price will have to be paid before any shares will be forth coming. Docks occupy the same position as yesterday, there being sellers at 54 and buyers at 53 per cent. premium. Hotels are very firm with buyers at 115. China Sugar scripis considerably weaker, holders offering to close at.igt, without attracting customers. Luzons, on the other hand, are in slightly, better favor, with buyers at 115. For the end of the month, however, offers of 116 would lead to business.
4 o'clock p.m. Since we last wrote China Sugars havę changed hands'at 190 per share for the end.of the month, and there are still seliers There has been no other at that rate. business to report.
