Commercial.
THIS DAY,
Noon. Our share report this morning is an ex- ceedingly meagre one, the business tran- sacted up to the time of our going to press. scarcely meriting special notice. We traced a small sale of Docks at 53 per cent, premium for cash, but this was 'an exceptional case, as the stock is very firm with buyers at that quotation, and likely enough a higher price would be paid were shares an offer. Banks are still inclined to be weaker than of late, offers to sell at 136 per cunt, premium for cash failing to meet with any response; but this of course may be, and probably is, owing to want of advices from Shanghal, as this stock is, and has been for some time past. practically controlled by the Shanghai capi- talists, Hongkong Pires have depreciated slightly, hollers offering to sell at 1065,.a reduction of ten dollars on previous quota. tion. Luzons remain in high favor, would. be investors at 1083 for cash můstering in strong force, and probably 109 would | hetemlered were any shares on the market; bui, as we stated the other day, people's eyes are getting gradually opened to the barefaced manner in which the scrip of this company has recently been manipul ated, and speculators find the bulling and bearing“ game not quite so easily carried on as it used to be. Other stocks have not even been' mentioned, so far as we can learn.
4 o'clock p.m.
With the exception of an unimportant time transaction in Banks at 147 for the end of the moisth, nuthing further has been done since we last wrote. "
