THE Officer Administering the Government INVITES RESIDENTS of HONGKONG who may be desirous of forming themselves into a NEW CORPS of HONGKONG VOLUN- TEERS to send in their Names to the ACTING COLONIAL SECRETARY,

It is proposed that a Corps of VOLUNTEER

ARTILLERY should be formed to be commanded by an Officer of the Royal Artillery whose Ser vices will, by permission of His Excellency the MAJOR GENERAL COMMANDING, be available for this purpose in the event of a sufficient nun- ber of Names being enrolled.

Government is prepared to offer with the view Information respecting the assistance which of encouraging-the-formation of a New CORPS will be obtained on Application to the ACTING COLONIAL SECRETARY.
