The British steamship Charles Townsend Hook reports left Bangkok on the sand instant, Had strong N.E. monsoon.

The British steamship Hector reports leh Foochow on the zgth instant at 10 am, and arrived in Hongkong on the 3ist at 6a.m. Had moderate N.E... monsoon with fine clear weather and smooth water,

The British steamship Contolation reports left Bangkok on the 33rd instant. The first part had light Southerly winds and overcast to lat. 13 N. from thence had fresh N.E. and E.N.E. winds and heavy-head son.

The British steamship Deuteti reports left Bangkok on the 24th instant. Had light S.E. winds in Gulf of Siam; thence had heavy rain and moderate S. W. winds to Pulo Obi to 13 N.; thence had moderate East and N.E. winds with fine weather.

SOLDIERS' AND SAILORS' LETTERS.

Privates in H.M. Army or Navy. Ndr commissioned, Officers, Bandmasters, Army Schoolmasters (not Superintending or First Class) Writers or Schoolmistresses may send half-ounce letters to the United Kingdom by mall at the rate of four cents (two-pence) cach, which may be prepaid either in Imperial or in Hongkong Stamps. By private steamer the postage is two cents (one penny).

3.The same privileges apply to letters ad dressed to the Privates and Non-commissioned Officers named above.
