The British steamship Peking reports left Shanghai un the 16th instant, and arrived at Hongkong on the roth at noon. Had fresh Easterly wind and fine weather the first part of the pasings. The latter part moderate S.E. wind and squally weather,
The British steamship Varnou reports left Foo- chow on the 19th instant. Experienced naxle- rate winds and dulf weather to Amoy. Left Any on the 15th at 5 Pat. Weather unsettled, and Iktrometer 29.73; Came too on port anchor,in
outer harbour, as weather appeared threatening
and barometer falling. At 8 pm, wind increased intyphoon force, and veering from E.S.E. to Band 5.E. A 10.30 pm, wind decreasing ; at 4 ami. miferate Ineeze and cloudy weather, hove up and procected to Swatow, sighted Swedish brip Kristina Nilsson, dismiasted off Chapel Island, and towed her in to Amoy. Left Amoy at 1 p.in. for Swatow. Passeda quantity junk wreckage, and a ship off Knob Island, with main topast gone. Arrived in Swatow on the 17th, and left again on the 18th.
