Not a single noteworthy transaction in shares has been reported since we last wrote, nor are there many changes to chronicle. Banks are still on offer at 122 per cent. premium, and would-be pur- | chasers refuse to pay 31 for Dorks. Steam- boats have taken another upward step, being in demand at 20 per share premium. Hongkong Fires are very firm at 935, and layers vainly offer 297 for China Fires. Other quotations remain unchanged, and speak for themselves. We came across a rather goal thing from an American paper the Bugfal Exprss--the other day, June 19, NinjaTA MARU, Japanese str., 1.098, J. ! with reference to share dealing. Says the writer, “If you must qabble in shares, try plough-shares. No other kind pays such regular dividends.” And he is right,
