LETTER BOXES.

Many boxes of letters are received at the Fost Office not sealed, that is to say, the box is fastened with sealing wax, but there is no impression of a stal.

The attention of boxholders is called to the necessity of carefully sealing such boxes with some recognisable seal, and of sending a chit book or receipt with them. The omission of the latter precaution leaves a doubt as to whether the contents of the box over reached the Port Office: the omission of the former, as to whether part of them might not have been abstracted for the sake of the Postage Stamps.
