The Exchange will be worked in the following way, viz.: a head Offies will bo established in the central part of the town provided with the best Telo phone appliances according to the now est and most approved European and American inventions. Each subscri. ber will be supplied with a complote set of Instruments and will be put in direct communication with the central offing by separate wires.

When wishing to use the Telephone, & Subscriber will only have to call the Central Station and give the name of the party, he wishes to speak with, the wires are theu immediately switched together, and the two Subscribers will be in direct communication with each other. When they have finishel, the Contral Office" is notified to that effect by a Bell Signal, the wires are then disconnected, and any other connection can be made if desired and so on. The dialogue between the subscribers is of course quito private and can only be heard by the two parties concerned. It should distinctly be understood, that the message are not spoken to the Cen- tral Offfoe, and thence transmitted to the porsou to be coininunicated with, bat the two wires are simply switched together, thus forming one continuous line, over which conversation can be carried with perfect ease and privacy.
