THE above work will be published on the lat of January next, at the office of this Paper, and will con- tain a Directory for the Ports in the largo portion of Asia comprised be- tiroon Penang, in the Straits Sottlo- ments, and the Northern Ports, includ ing Formosa; the Treaty Ports of China and Japan; the Philippine Islands; the British Colony of Hongkong; and the Portagnese Colony of Macno. The work will also contain the Principal Treaties

.also between European countries and the United States and the countries East of the Straits, together with conditious of Trado, and the Port, Castoms, Cou- sular and Harbour Regulations for the Ports of China and Japan; and a des cription of the Forts, with the latest Trade Statistics taken from the Reports of the Imperial Maritime Customs and other reliable sources.

The various Governments and Mu- nicipal Corporations will be applied to for information, and all Public Bodies and Companies, Bankers, Merchants, Consuls, and Professional and other Residents, will supply the necessary

matter to ensure correctness upon forms sent for that purpose. The Naval and

Company's Wharf to the Canton and Macao Steamboat Co.'s Wharf; No. 3 from the Canton and Macho Steamboat Co.'s Wharf to the Government Wharf; No. 4 from the Govern- ment Wharf to the Wanchai Pior; and No. 5 from the Wanchai Pier to Kollett's Island.'
