COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
THIS DAY, ONE F.M.
With the exception of a fairly large busi- ness in Sugars, there has been very little done on the Stock Exchange since we last wrote. Sugars have been in great domand,
although at a reduced quotation, transactions
of considerable importance having been booked at 156 for the end of the present month. Business at that rate is still going on, but there are more, buyers, than sellers, and a rise in price may be safely predicted. A few Banks have changed hands at 109 for October 31st, but the movement is not of any
importance, and need not be ts n as any indication of the actual position of the stock in the market. Docks are now exceedingly quiet, although sellers would be glad to deal
at 31 par cent. premium for the end of the present month. No other stocks have been mentioned, and their positions in the market may be gathered from subjoined quotations.
