A. Differences between course and workshop/conference/seminar/talk/etc. are:

(a) Course

It normally lasts longer, needs more organization and planning and participation is more exclusive to certain workers in the area/setting specifically mentioned. (b) Workshop/Conference/seminar/talks/etc.

These names are loosely used depending on the choice of the particular training officer. They normally last from day to a week and are run according to circumstances and/or immediate needs of a specific group of workers.

B. To avoid duplication, when a course/project for the same group of trainees/students is scheduled in such a way that it falls in two consecutive calendar years, for example, a course began in September 1969 and ended in May 1970, the 'dominant year' will be taken, and in this case, it is calculated that the course was run in 1969–70.

C. No attended means the number of trainees/students/participants having attended the course/ project either partially or fully and not necessarily means the number having completed it with success.
