To advise the Government departments, academic institutions and voluntary organizations concerned on curricula and on the recognition and expansion of social work courses and the relationship between or among them, with a view to safeguarding and raising standards of professional education, training and practice. The term 'courses' would include, amongst others:

(a) academic courses;

(b) in-service training courses;

(c) extra mural courses;

(d) full-time or part-time seminers and refresher courses.

To consider the need for making available appropriate literature from various parts of the world (including the production of literature in Chinese and reproduction and, where desirable, translation into Chinese, of books, or excerpts from books and articles from periodicals) and to recommend means of locating and securing such material.

To stimulate social welfare organizations, Government Departments, etc., to undertake publicity by means of talks, leaflets, posters, film strips, exhibi- tions and other means, in order to make known social work as a career and to expand recruitment, and to advise en suitable publicity methods.

To act as a medium of exchange of information and views about the most appropriate opportunities for study overseas in relation to need at any given time, and the preparation of experienced social workers for such study.

To advise on the need from time to time for the recruitment and use of social work training or related consultants from overseas, whether as teachers, supervisors or specialists in a particular branch, for example, the institutional care of children.

On such other matters related to training for social work as may from time to time be added by the Committee.

The Advisory Committee may appoint sub-committees for particular purposes and may delegate to them such functions as it may determine. Sub-committees may invite non-members to consult with them, as may seem desirable.'
