I regret to have to inform you that I shall be leaving on 21st August for America on urgent business and will be absent from the Colony when the Report of the Salaries Commission is ready for signature. Although I shall not be able to sign the Report, I am in full agreement with the salary scales and the various recom- mendations which the Commission is putting forward and with the draft text of the Report which I have seen. should be grateful therefore if when you forward the Report to Government you would request His Excellency the Governor to regard me as one of the signatories to the Commission's Report.
