(ii) that the Executive Committee of the Court consist of 6 members of the Court who are not full-time officers of the University but including the Treasurer who would be a member ex officio, and at least two of whom shall be of Chinese race, one to be selected from the Chinese members of the Legislative and Executive Councils, to- gether with 5 full-time officers of the Uni- versity including the Vice-Chancellor and the Deans of Faculties who would be members of the Executive Committee ex officio the Executive Committee to be appointed as to members other than mem- bers ex officio, by the Chancellor ; (iii) that if the above changes are made, the powers of control of the Senate be limited to purely academic matters and that para- graph 8 of Statute to be amended to read "to make representations to the Court through the Executive Committee on any matter relating to the University "
(c)--(i) that there be a Standing Committee of the Senate which shall consist of the Vice-Chan- cellor, the Dean of each Faculty and one other member from each Faculty to be elected for one year by the Senate :
(ii) that the Standing Committee be the execu- tive of the Senate and meet at least once a month during term time-
(1) to consider all business to be placed before the Senate and to make recommendations thereon;
(2) to take such action in accordance with the Regulations as may be necessary to carry out the general instructions of the Senate; (3) to receive reports and decisions of the
Matriculation Board and to act on them; (4) to conduct all routine business of the
Senate;
(iii) that the meetings of the Senate be held twice a year in October and in March and at such other time as may be found necessary.
