REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, FOR THE YEAR 1902.

SIR,-I have the honour to forward you my Report upon the work of the Public Works Department during the year 1902. The year was signalised locally by the visit of the Sanitary Experts and by a drought of great severity.

The large increase in item (2) "Annually Recurrent Works" was due mainly to the following:-
Measures to supplement the water supply rendered
necessary by the drought,
