Ashton Farley's "The Ashton Farley's Sound", Bob Williams "Bumper To Bumper", and Ray Cordeiro's "Late Night Show", cater- ing for different age groups all collected particular followers. "Bits and Pieces" began in June 1974 and is basically a record programme built around interesting snippets of information on anything from performing killer-whales to how and where to buy a Whurlitzer organ, and includes interviews with local and visiting personalities and news on Hong Kong theatre productions and art exhibitions.

Jazz enthusiasts continued to be well catered for under the expert guidance of Lenny Tracey and Chris Hilton, whose profound knowledge makes their programmes an interesting listening experience, even for those who are not jazz devotees. Aware of an increased interested in Soul Music, RHK welcomed the arrival of soul DJ extraordinary, Don Berry. An experienced broadcaster from the U.S.A., Don broadcasts under the name, Sweet Dee, This gentle giant 6' 4" on his bare feet has rapidly become, one of the station's popular personalities.

The year saw the usual cross-section of popular performers passing through and thanks to Ray Cordeiro's efforts, RHK was fortunate to be able to record their concerts in many cases. The year got off to a splendid start with David Cassidy, who has a huge following in Hong Kong, as elsewhere. Those of his fans unlucky enough to miss his concerts had, at least, the satisfaction of hearing him later on RHK-3. Also recorded during the year were Country star, Buck Owens, Sergio Mendes' Brazil 77 and Carmen Cavallaro. And these live recordings added just the right touch of variety to the range of domestic programmes produced.

Because of the substantial light music audience, the producers are well aware of their responsibilities to the Hong Kong community at large, and with these responsibilities in mind they and the disc jockeys were very much in evidence in the various campaigns on good citizenship during the year. Ashton Farley and Ray Cordeiro added their own distinctive touches to such campaigns as the Clean Beach Campaign and the Fight Violent Crime Campaign.

NEWS AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS SERVICE
The News Service underwent a considerable degree of streamlining and consolidation on its operation side in the course of the year. Unfortunately, a shortage of funds from the start hampered the section's growth, but substantial progress was still made. Jagjit Dillon drew together a confident
