Relay Reception
64. The Receiving Station is part of the Cable and Wireless Centre at Mount Butler on Hong Kong Island. During the year a total of 2,951 English and 1,041 Chinese programmes were received from overseas broadcast stations and re-broadcast locally. Reception from the BBC between the period 0900-1500 GMT was generally good and relayed direct. It was normally found necessary during the period 2200-0300 GMT that BBC relays had to be taken from the Singapore relay station because direct relays were poor.
