The Radio Hong Kong programme 'Travels of a Jazzman' featured Tony SCOTT's clarinet playing traditional melodies in company with the Japanese Koto, the Indonesian Harp, the African Pennywhistle and many other instruments seldom heard outside their native countries.
SPORT AND OUTSIDE BROADCASTS
84. As is customary Radio Hong Kong's outside broadcast teams of commentators and technicians visited nearly every major event to take place in the Colony. There were broadcasts of regular sporting fixtures such as the Walkathon, Cross Harbour Swimming Race, the Macao Grand Prix, the Hong Kong Open Golf Championship, etc. Commentators were also present on the occasion of H.M. the Queen's Birthday Parade, the H.K. Products Exhibition, the Cheung Chau Bun Festival and many other functions which took place during the year.
85. From overseas there were relays of the F.A. Cup Final, the Derby, the Grand National, the test matches between England and the West Indies and the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship, etc.
ENGINEERING
GENERAL
86. Considerable planning work was carried out during the year in connection with the proposed removal of Radio Hong Kong from Mercury House to a new Broadcasting House on the site of the old naval dockyard. However, the project had to be abandoned and alternative arrangements are now in hand.
87. During the year work was completed on the Studios installed in the new Information Services Headquarters in Beaconsfield House. The studios are connected by VHF links to Mercury House Head- quarters.

88. There was no change in the deployment of transmitters during the period 1.4.63 to 31.3.64.
