Tape recovery unit

Built in the workshops of Radio Hong Kong this machine locates individual splices, which can then be examined for standard, and also counts electronically the total number of splices in each tape in order to determine whether the tape should be discarded or not.

Gunfire effects generator Another product of the labora- tory and workshop is this unit which is capable of producing electronically the sounds of wind, storms, seagulls calling, a rifle range with ricochet effects amongst many others. It is used principally in radio plays and documentary programmes.
