80. Recording bookings continued at high level and full use was made of both technical staff and equipment. Studios were in constant demand and temporary installations were set up on many occasions to cover additional requests for recording facilities.

82. Portable recorders were in great demand, mainly for use in topical programmes. The 1962-63 average was 200 bookings a month, a figure which was beyond the capacity of the number of recorders held by the station and there have been many occasions when private machines had to be utilized. The following table shows average monthly booking-out of portable recorders over the past four years:

83. Mr. S. C. PASCOE, Senior Executive Officer, Class II, who had been serving as Secretary, was transferred to the Urban Services Department and was replaced on the 14th September, 1962 by Mr. E. A. FISHER, Executive Officer, Class I. Mr. R. J. OLIPHANT, Executive Officer, Class II, who had been in charge of the General and Accounts Office for the past four years went on vacation leave in January 1963 and was not replaced; his duties being undertaken by the Secretary in addition to his own.
