The pattern of religious broadcasting continued unchanged with regular outside broadcasts each Sunday from the main Christian churches, twice weekly mid-day services from the studio and a forces' evening service every Sunday evening. During the main Christian festivals such as Easter and Christmas the programmes were almost entirely devoted to music and features reflecting the Christian outlook.
PUBLICITY AND PRESENTATION
116. Increases in staff made it possible to devote more time to these important outlets and broadcasting publicity material was prepared regularly for the following journals; China Mail, South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Tiger Standard, Far Eastern Radio News, Weekend Mirror and Showbox.
117, It was also possible to pay greater attention to programme presentation and to the training of announcers, and the daily programme parades provided a useful guide to the day's listening.

TECHNICAL SERVICES
GENERAL
118. The studio centre is in Mercury House, the Far Eastern Head- quarters of Cable and Wireless Limited, who are responsible for the Department's technical operations. Medium and short wave transmitters are at Hung Hom, in Kowloon. VHF/FM transmitters will be installed in a new station at Mount Gough, on Hong Kong Island, and relays from other broadcasting organizations abroad are received via the Cable and Wireless Receiving Station at Mount Butler, on Hong Kong Island.
119. The studio centre has nine studios, including separate continuity and production suites for the English and Chinese Pro- gramme Services, three recording rooms and a central control room. Extensive use is made of school halls and other large auditoria for the production of musical programmes involving orchestras and for audience shows.
120. The major engineering project of the year was the construction of the new VHF/FM transmitting station at Mount Gough and the installation of the transmitters and ancillary equipment. The project
