Relations with other broadcasting organizations.

B.B.C.

105. Close relations with the British Broadcasting Corpora- tion were maintained and the B.B.C. Transcription Service was used to the full, together with a large number of relays from the General Overseas Service and the Far Eastern Service.

Contributions were made both to Radio Newsreel and to the Far Eastern Service series 'Asia on the Air'. A full list of these contributions will be found in Appendix D.

Staff training facilities were provided by the B.B.C. for two members of the staff. Radio Hong Kong provided facilities for B.B.C. radio and television correspondents.

Rediffusion.

106. Cordial relations with Rediffusion were maintained, and a percentage of both English and Chinese programmes were relayed under the terms of the agreement with Government. Two programmes, namely, 'Operation Fat Choy' and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra Music Forum were joint productions.

Radio Vila Verde.

107. In return for the loan of commentators, Radio Vila Verde provided facilities for the broadcasting of commentaries on the Macau Grand Prix by Radio Hong Kong.

United Nations Radio.

108. Use was made of several of the United Nations features series, in addition to the programmes mentioned elsewhere in this report.

Radio Malaya.

109. An exchange of programmes took place between Radio Hong Kong and Radio Malaya, with two series of musical pro- grammes being sent to Hong Kong and the weekly Chinese programmes 'We are Living Below Victoria Peak' and 'Topical Events' being sent to Malaya.

Radio Sarawak.

110. Twenty Kuoyu radio plays produced by Radio Hong Kong were sent to Sarawak for use in the Chinese service there,
