Talks.

47. Mr. LAM Kwan Shan's series of educational talks con- tinued. Other talks during the year included translations of Sir Anthony Eden's broadcast during the Middle East crisis, the budget speeches of the Governor and the Financial Secretary.

Features.

48. Several feature programmes were received from other broadcasting organizations, and these included 'I, The Diplomat' from the United Nations. This was originally broadcast in English, and the script was translated into Cantonese by a member of the United Nations Association in Hong Kong and broadcast by a Radio Hong Kong cast. Another programme in Kuoyu from the United Nations was 'The Road to the Charter'. Radio Australia sent two preview programmes of the Olympic Games in Melbourne, and these were broadcast in the week before the opening of the Games.

From KIRO, the C.B.S. station in Seattle, came an eyewit- ness account of the Hong Kong Display at the 5th International Trade Fair, and from Malaya came twelve musical features entitled 'Musical New Look'.

49. In Hong Kong the Australian Trade Commissioner and Indian Commissioner supplied material for a joint programme. to celebrate the two countries' National Days, the visit of the aircraft carrier H.M.S. 'Albion' provided an opportunity for listeners to listen in on the life of a modern warship, when Eddie Au Yeung produced a feature based on a sea exercise off the coast.

Eddie Au Yeung went to sea again with the Hong Kong Flotilla and produced another naval programme dealing with the life of the Navy's little ships in Hong Kong waters.

The forthcoming year was considered in a Chinese New Year programme 'The Year of the Five Virtues', and the Tai Lam Chung Water Supply Scheme was featured in a broadcast on the day of the opening of the scheme by Lady Patricia Lennox Boyd.
