Transmissions were closed down between 06.00 local time daily from March 22nd to 26th and also from March 31st to Arpil 2nd, 1976 to allow Police installation team to mount their aerials on the cleared off section of the aerial tower.

To make way for the stereo transmissions on RHK2 and RHK4, transmitters were modified to accept stereo drivers from McMartin B-910 for English and Rohde & Schwarz HS1001/1 for Chinese. Automatic changeover units for external/internal FM drivers were constructed and installed, which could also be controlled remotely from Broadcasting House.
