(a) the Estates and Areas Division, headed by an Administrative Officer, is responsible for the management and administration of resettlement accommodation which includes the multi-storey estates, factories, and the cottage resettlement areas;

(b) the Operations Division, under an Administrative Officer, is responsible for the clearance of squatters into resettlement accom- modation;

(c) the Squatter Control Division, headed by an Administrative Officer, is responsible for the control and prevention of new un- lawful structures and for resiting operations;

(d) the Works Section, headed by a Building Surveyor seconded from the Public Works Department, is responsible for maintenance work in resettlement estates, as well as construction and main- tenance work in cottage areas and the preparation of plans for cultivation clearances;

(e) the Headquarters Division, under the Secretary and Senior Executive Officer (Accounts), is responsible for the internal admin- istration of the department.

95. Particulars of the establishment as at 31st March, 1964 are given in Appendix X.

96. There are 19 senior posts in the department filled by Administrative Officers, Executive Officers, and Resettlement Officers. During the year the following changes in senior staff occurred:

In April, 1963, Mr. LEE King-wan and Mr. HAR Chan-kwok, Assistant Resettle- ment Officers, were appointed to act as Resettlement Officer, Sanitation, and Resettlement Officer, Estates (Central), respectively.

In August 1963, Mr. C. P. KEELING, Administrative Officer, was appointed

Administrative Officer, Operations, vice Mr. J. W. SWEETMAN.

In November 1963, Mr. J. W. SWEETMAN, Administrative Officer, was appointed

Administrative Officer, Headquarters, a new post.

In November 1963, Mr. P. BISHOP, Senior Administrative Officer, was appointed

Administrative Officer, Operations, vice Mr. C. P. KEELING.

In December 1963, Mr. D. C. BARTY, O.B.E., Administrative Officer, Staff Grade A, was appointed Commissioner for Resettlement vice Mr. C. G. M. MORRISON on pre-retirement leave.

In February 1964, Mr. P. BISHOP, Senior Administrative Officer, was appointed Assistant Commissioner for Resettlement vice Mr. Paul K. C. Tsui, M.B.E. In February 1964, Mr. T. J. BEDFORD, Administrative Officer, was appointed

In February 1964, Mr. P. F. LEEDS, Senior Executive Officer, Class II, was

appointed Senior Executive Officer (Accounts) vice Mr. NG Shun-keung.
