83. The departmental Sports Association, which was registered as a society in February 1958, has continued to make good progress and now has a membership of 406, representing an increase of 57 over the previous year. The major sport of the department is miniature football. Six teams competed in the 'Leeds' cup held in September 1960, and friendly matches were also played with other Government department and outside teams. A team from the department took part in the Urban Services Department swimming gala, held in November 1960, with considerable enthusiasm, if not success. Table tennis tournaments were organized in January 1961, and the matches were keenly contested. On 21st May, 1960, and 10th September, 1960 a large number of the staff and members of their families spent two very enjoyable afternoons on launch picnics at Silver Mine Bay and Clear Water Bay respectively. 84. His Excellency the Governor, Sir Robert BLACK, K.C.M.G., O.B.E., inspected the Kwun Tong Estate on 13th January, 1960. Lord and Lady PERTH, in company with Mr. E. MELVILLE, Assistant Under- Secretary of State for the Colonies, visited the Squatter Area at Valley Road and the Shek Kip Mei Estate on 24th October, 1960. Resettle- ment estates and areas were also visited during the year by many other persons from abroad.
