78. Receipts for the year ending 31st March, 1961 amounted to $11,298,772. Of this sum permit fees in the cottage areas amounted to $1,024,280, rents from Government-owned cottages to $322,150 and the net rents received in the multi-storey estates, after payment of rates and water charges, to $9,952,342. Particulars of expenditure and revenue on resettlement for the 9-year period from 1st April, 1952 to 31st March, 1961 are attached as an appendix to this Chapter.
