Trust Companies
101. One new trust company was registered under Part VIII of the Trustee Ordinance bringing the number of trust companies on the register to four.
Money-lenders
102. 170 money-lenders were registered under the Money-lenders Ordinance, 101 more than in 1971-72. The fee for such registration is $500 per annum. Two exemptions from registration granted in terms of the legislation were current at the end of the year. A further application for exemption was under consideration.
Limited Partnerships Ordinance
103. This Ordinance enables partnerships to be registered between one or more general partners liable for all the debts of the firm and one or more limited partners liable only up to the amount contributed by them to the partnership. Four such partnerships were registered during the year, raising the total number registered to 35, of which only 14 are believed to be still in existence.
Registered Trustees Incorporation Ordinance
104. Under this Ordinance the duly appointed trustees (not being less than three nor more than seven) of any body of persons as defined in the Ordinance or of any charity may apply for incorporation; and the Governor may, if he considers such incorporation expedient, grant a certificate of incorporation, whereupon the trustees and their succes- sors in office become a body corporate with perpetual succession. In June 1969 the Governor delegated to the Registrar General the power conferred upon him by the Ordinance to grant, cancel or amend certificates of incorporation. During the year one certificate of incor- poration was granted under the delegated powers, making a total of 35 certificates so far granted. The objects of the 35 bodies or charities whose trustees have been incorporated are:
