121. During the year final demands were made on all debtors and guarantors, and a great deal of time was spent in considering pro- posals made by debtors and guarantors for payment by instalments and also in initiating legal proceedings in many cases. As will be evident from the above figures, a vast amount of work remains to be done, and there is therefore no prospect of the liquidation being completed for some years to come.

122. Once again, special tribute must be paid to the valuable advice and assistance given by the four members of the Committee of Inspection, who have spent an enormous amount of time and careful thought on the many difficult problems confronting them at every monthly meeting.

123. The special unit set up in the previous year to investigate certain aspects of the case continued its investigation throughout the year. At the end of March 1967 it was in course of moving to new premises taken for it in the United Chinese Bank Building, to which many of the records were being transferred for ease of reference.

The Ming Tak Bank

124. This Bank collapsed in January 1965 and its affairs have since been in the hands of the Official Receiver as Trustee in Bankruptcy of the sole proprietor. During the year, three multi-storeyed buildings that had been in the course of construction by the proprietor of the
