105. The number of patents registered during the year rose by 78 to 364, which is the highest yearly total ever recorded. The numbers registered during the past five years have been as follows:

As will be seen, the only change in the first six places is that Japan has replaced Switzerland in fourth place. A notable newcomer to the list is New Zealand with ten patents registered.

Fees

107. The year's revenue amounted to the record total of $25,743, $6,213 more than in the previous year. This increase was due mainly to the larger number of registrations effected during the year.
