Local or Branch Registers

28. Three licences to keep a local or branch Share Register were granted under Section 103 of the Ordinance.

Money-Lenders

29. Seven Money-Lenders licences were issued under the Money- Lenders Ordinance (Cap. 163). It is noteworthy that since the licence fee was increased from $50 to $500 in 1955, the number of registered money-lenders has declined from nineteen to seven.

Deposits by Fire, Marine and Life Insurance Companies

30. The deposits made by Insurance Companies with the Registrar of Companies under the Fire and Marine Insurance Companies Deposit Ordinance (Cap. 34), and those made under the Life Insurance Com- panies Ordinance (Cap. 36), are shown in Tables X and XI respectively.

Chinese Partnerships Ordinance (Cap. 31)

31. No partnerships have been registered under this Ordinance since the war. Only twenty one Chinese Partnerships have so far been registered, the last registration being in 1934.

Limited Partnerships Ordinance (Cap. 37)

32. One Limited Partnership was registered during the year, making with the four already on the Register five Limited Partnerships regis- tered since 1913.

Fees

33. The fees collected totalled $861,143.52, an increase of $74,000 over the figure for the previous year. Capital fees paid by new com- panies dropped by $64,000 to $515,641.00, but this drop was more than compensated for by higher receipts from fees paid on increases of capital during the year. The comparative figures for 1957/58 and 1958/59 are as follows:
