OFFICIAL RECEIVER IN BANKRUPTCY
AND COMPANIES WINDING UP
49. Eight bankruptcy petitions were presented during the year. Of these one was dismissed, another adjourned upon the Debtor's disputing that he was within the Court's jurisdiction, a third disposed of upon a composition being approved by the Court, and a fourth was pending at the close of the year. Receiving and Adjudication Orders were made on the other four petitions, and the Official Receiver was appointed Trustee in each case.
50. An Order for the winding-up of Wilson & Lewis Corporation Ltd. was the only compulsory winding-up order made by the Court during the year. The Official Receiver was appointed Liquidator of this Company, which had practically no realizable assets. Although calls have been made on the Contributories to the extent of $100,000, being the amount unpaid on the issued share capital, and an Order for payment of this sum has been made by the Court, there seems little prospect of recovering much for the Creditors.
Dividends
51. Dividends were declared and distributed by the Official Receiver in six bankruptcies and one compulsory liquidation, and by an outside Liquidator in one liquidation.
Public Examinations
52. Public Examinations were held in six cases, resulting in two prosecutions against bankrupts being ordered by the Court. One was acquitted, the other sentenced to six months imprisonment.
Cases concluded
53. Two Orders of Release in bankruptcy and four in companies liquidation were granted by the Court.

54. Thirty bankruptcies were carried over from previous years, but in eleven of these a final dividend has already been paid, and in ten
