65. The Land Transactions (Enemy Occupation) (Amend- ment) Ordinance, 1955, extended for yet another year to 15th July, 1956, the period during which the "Green Ink Entries" in the Land Registers relating to transactions during the Japanese occupation constitute notice of such transactions.

66. The Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Ordinance, 1955, introduced two important sections affecting the Land Office. These are Section 31B providing for re-entry by the Crown under the Crown Rights (Re-Entry) Ordinance in the event of a breach of a condition incorporated in an Order of the Governor in Council under Section 31 excluding premises from the application of the Ordinance, and Section 31C which authorizes registration in the Land Office of an Order of the Governor in Council under Section 31, and provides that where it is a condition of the Order that a building shall be erected in accordance with the terms of such Order, then upon registra- tion of the Order the condition is binding on the Landlord's successors in title.

67. The Crown Rights (Re-entry) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1955, amended the principal Ordinance to make it clear that the Governor in Council has and always has had power, when ordering the cancellation of a Memorial of Re-entry, to impose such terms as to costs, expenses, damages, compensation, penalty or otherwise as he deems fit. The Amending Ordinance also empowers the Governor in Council to cancel a memorial of re- entry in respect of part only of the lands comprised therein, leaving the Memorial subsisting in respect of the remainder.

68. The Mining (Amendment) Ordinance, 1955, increased the maximum period for which a prospecting licence may be
