Patents registrable.
38. There is no original registration of patents in Hong Kong. Only patents already registered in the United Kingdom are registrable in this Colony under the Registration of United Kingdom Patents Ordinance (Cap. 42). This provides that any person who is the grantee of a patent in the United Kingdom may, within five years from the date of issue of the patent, apply to have it registered in Hong Kong.
Patents registered.
39. 27 new patents were registered during the year, com- pared with 30 in the previous year. One pre-war patent was re-registered. The total number of patents on the Register on the 31st March, 1955, was 139.
Fees.
40. Fees collected amounted to $1,272.00.
