35. Twelve Trust Estates were administered by the Official Trustee during the year.

36. At the close of the year the market value of invest- ments held was $130,835.00 (book value, $136,908.52). In addition $17,850 on fixed deposit and $2,769.18 in cash were held on the Official Trustee Account.

37. Table XIV contains an abstract of Receipts and Pay- ments and the balance held on 31st March, 1953.

38. There is reason to believe that the funds of certain pre-war Trusts (the records of which were lost during the Japanese occupation of the Colony) as shown in Table XV on page 25 of the Report of this Department for 1951/52 may not be correct. This table is, therefore, omitted from the present Report, but will appear, as amended, in the Report for 1953/54.
