Part VI.

Official Trustee.

The number of Trust Estates in the hands of the Official Trustee during the period was eight. The invested funds totalled $127,218.18, (including the sum of £1,850 invested in the United Kingdom) producing an income of $5,089.45. No new trusts were opened during the year and no existing ones were closed. The amount of commission collected was $88.15. A separate list of the Trusts administered giving particulars of the invest- ments held is attached and the total figures are shown in the annexed Statement of Funds.

Part VII.

General, and Staff Note.

The office of Registrar General was established under the Registrar General (Establishment) Ordinance 1949 with effect from the 1st April, 1949, and this is accordingly the first year of the operation of the new department. The various sections of the department are under the immediate control of three pro- fessionally qualified legal officers appointed as Deputy Regis- trars General, the officers to perform these duties being at pre- sent provided from the personnel of the Legal Department by arrangement with the Attorney General. These officers are therefore under existing circumstances subject to change as necessity arises to accord with the staff requirements of the Legal Department and the following are details of the changes in the personnel during the year under review;
