PART I-LAND REGISTRY.
Deeds Registration.
1. The total number of instruments registered under the Land Registration Ordinance, 1844, for 1950/51 was 6,600, which compares with a yearly average of 3,789 for 1935/1939, the five pre-war years included in Table I appended.
2. The aggregate amount of the consideration stated in the various instruments registered in the Land Office in 1950/51 was $245,154,343.94.
3. The totals of instruments registered in the last ten years for which figures are available are given in Table I. Table II gives details. of the 6,600 instruments registered in 1950/51 according to their cate- gories, and Table III gives details by months.
Crown Leases.
4. The number of Crown Leases issued in 1950/51 was 176, the aggregate amount of fees collected under this head being $27,190.
5. Table IV shows the number of Leases issued in 1950/51 by localities, and the monthly totals of fees collected for Crown Leases issued in 1950/51 can be seen from Table V. The number of Crown Leases issued during each of the last ten years for which figures are available is shown in Table I and Table VI gives the totals of Crown Leases fees collected in those years.
Surrenders.
6. 95 Deeds of Surrender affecting a total of 115 lots were registered as compared with 40 Deeds affecting 55 lots in 1949/50. The total con- sideration paid being $228,262 as against $20,799 in the previous year.
