Crown Rents.
16. The number of lots entered on the Hong Kong and Kowloon Crown Rent Roll was 13,552, an increase of 39 over the previous year. Crown rents were $827,720.66, an increase of $41,433.46 over the previous year, which itself had increased by a somewhat similar amount over 1939. The increases were in the urban areas
and in Rural Building Lots.
Table VII is a statement by localities,
17. The number of lots entered on the Village Crown Rent Roll as shown by localities in Table VIII was 1,926, a decrease of one as compared with the previous year. Crown Rent was $1,294.55, a slight decrease from the previous year.
18. During the year the number of sections the Crown Rents of which were apportioned under the Crown Rents Apportionment Ordinance 1936, was 21 as compared with 20 in the previous year, and the fees collected for them were $279.
