Quarterly reports were received from the Peak Tramways Co. Ltd. certifying tests carried out on haulage equipment, track centre brake rail, stations, cars, signals and ropes. It was noted that both ropes were changed during 1976. Operation continues satisfactorily although the service was suspended for periods between 24th and 27th August 1976 due to severe tropical storm "Ellen" which caused a blockage of the track by a fallen tree.
