Supplies
No contract was re-entered during the year under review.
2.40 The Supplies Officer, Public Works Department Headquarters, is responsible for the overall control and supervision of supplies staff and departmental stores attached to Public Works Department and, where necessary, gives advice to professional and technical officers as well as supplies personnel on procurement of stores and storehouse operation procedures.

During the year under review, 171 cases of lost or deficient stores were reported by various Offices of the Department and the total value of losses written off was $19,515.79 compared with 130 cases valued at $20,692.81 for the previous year.

A total of 202 orders for B.S.I. publications and technical books was placed by the Supplies Office during the year, at a total cost of $40,199.00, compared with 182 orders at a total cost of $41,507.57 during the previous year.

Annual departmental stocktaking under S.K. 391 was conducted on 139 stores locations within the Department, resulting in 32 discrepancies being found. The surpluses and deficiencies were subsequently adjusted or written off.

Programmed stores inspections of 32 allocated stores were carried out at least twice in the year under review.
