Thirteen visual approach slope indicators were carried out at Sub-Station 'B'. A total of 150 metres of cable was laid in connection with the power supply improvements for the North Kowloon Magistracy Hill Hazard Beacon. Four generators, and five "no-break" sets were commissioned; 36 security lights, 70 street lights, 40 taxiway lights, 82 apron flood-lights and 4 sets of aircraft parking signs were installed. Two passenger aerobridges were commissioned at Aircraft Parking Bay No. 5, where domestic lighting and power systems, including fan coil units, air curtain units, fresh air intakes and exhausts were also commissioned. Domestic lighting and power systems at the air cargo complex office block, including air-conditioning units, fan coil units, water pumps, air intake and exhausts were also commissioned. Three seawater pumps, exhaust fans and chlorination plant at Sub-Station 'F' were also commissioned.
General Post Office Section

With the completion of the new G.P.O. in August 1976, this Section was formed and became responsible for the maintenance of all the electrical and mechanical equipment including all mail handling conveyors, letter and parcel sorting and franking equipment and all despatch equipment for both air and surface mail. The Section was also responsible for the operation and maintenance of a central air-conditioning plant rated at 1,459.5 KW as well as 19 zone cabinets and all general and specialist power supplies, together with all general office and public area lighting.
Hong Kong City Hall

This Section maintains all the electrical, mechanical and air-conditioning installations at the City Hall, carrying out the repairs of faults, replacement of lamps of all types, installation of temporary wiring for flood and display lighting and operates the 2,572.5 KW air-conditioning plant. Operators were provided for stage lighting operations, cinema and slide projections.

Routine maintenance continued throughout the year.
8.51 This Section operates and maintains all electrical and mechanical systems and electronic equipment connected with toll booths and recorders, carbon monoxide monitoring equipment, visibility indication and alarm equipment, height detection equipment, emergency communication equipment, fire extinguisher alarm equipment, traffic and signal control equipment, tunnel lighting, ventilation plant and "no-break" generating sets as well as lane marker beacons at both ends of the toll plaza. Routine maintenance and general overhaul of plant and equipment continued throughout the year. Investigation by the Design and Projects Division into the upgrading of lighting within the tunnel, which was held in abeyance last year, was started again towards the end of the year.

The Hospital Services Section is responsible for the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment located in Government hospitals and clinics and also in the British Military Hospital.
