A total of 108,340 cubic metres of spoil was removed by the self-propelled hopper dredger and the two pontoon dredgers. These dredgers also engaged in maintenance dredging at pier approaches, nullah and sewer outfalls and salt-water pumphouse intakes. A total of 52,730 cubic metres of spoil was removed.

Surveys and Marine Site Investigations

The Survey Section carried out both land and marine surveys and setting out. Work continued on the updating and metrication of harbour charts, using electronic distance measuring equipment.

A total of 170 boreholes was sunk at 20 sites, amounting to 1,295 m of boring.
