One assistant professional officer joined the staff during the year and two local assistant professional officers were promoted to full professional rank. Three expatriate professional officers on agreement were recruited. Six technical officers were promoted to assistant professional ranks.
Training

One Structural Engineer was awarded study leave for one year to attend an M.Sc. Course in Structural Engineering at the University of Surrey.
4.97 One Surveying Assistant (Quantity) was awarded a 3-year B.Sc. Degree Course in Quantity Surveying at the Polytechnic of Central London while three Engineering Assistants (Building Services) were undertaking a four-year B.Sc. Degree Course in Environment Engineering/Electrical Engineering under a Government Scholarship Scheme.
