11.07 The Division controls, maintains and extends the fresh and salt water distribution systems and is responsible for the provision of supplies to consumers.

Mains Sub-Division

11.08 Extensions and improvements to fresh and salt water distribution systems were carried out to supply areas of new development and to meet the requirements of urban redevelopment schemes. The programme for replacement of undersized or defective mains and general distribution improvement continued. A total of 86 km. of mains was laid during the year.
